Hub Shark the easy way to remove and install pressed on brake rotors. Remove the wheel, caliper, axle nut and the steering knuckle from the lower control arm. Push the half shaft back through the hub. Mount the Hub Puller with the Center Screw through the hub and place the hub HPA Washer behind the hub, put the Big Nut on behind the Remover, turn the Center Screw with an impact wrench and off comes the hub on the Center Screw. NOTICE:THE JAWS ON THE PULLER PUSH AGAINST THE STEERING KNUCKLE, THEY DO NOT PULL THE HUB. THE HUB IS PUSHED OUT FROM THE BACK BY THE HPA WASHER. THE HUB, PUSHED FROM THE BACK, WILL BRING THE TRAPPED ROTOR WITH IT! |
Select a Sleeve that is bigger than the bearing and place the Adapter on the Sleeve. Now you have a cup that is larger than the bearing. Put the Center Screw through the cup and place the Remover on the Center Screw behind the bearing then put on the Large Nut. Turn the Center Screw with your impact wrench, hold the Big Nut, and the bearing moves from the knuckle into the cup. No flying pieces of steel and little round balls rolling on the floor Select the Installer that fits the new bearing. Only the shoulder of the Installer touches the new bearing, and it touches only the outer race. Put the Center Screw through the Installer and bearing and through the knuckle. Put an Adapter on the back to block the Large Nut and turn the Center Screw with your impact wrench. The Large Nut will travel down the Center Screw to the Adapter and then the Bearing will move into the steering knuckle where it will be squared and seated. Use the same procedure, placing the hub on the Center Screw against the Installer, put the Center Screw through the knuckle and use the Adapter and Large Nut as before. Turn the Center Screw with your impact wrench and the hub will turn into the bearing, taking the trapped rotor with it, too.
